Why is the layer I want to view grayed out in the table of contents?

Some layers are scaled dependent, meaning that they are only visible at certain scales. When a layer is grayed out, it is not visible at that scale.

Why am I unable to print?

Pop-up Blockers needs to be set to off for this site, as well as any other toolbars (Google) that may block the print window from generating.

To block pop-ups using  Microsoft's Windows Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Pop-up Blocker > Pop-up Blockers Settings

From the Pop-up Blockers Settings, add the website "map.co.door.wi.us" and select Add and Close.

Now try printing once again, using the tool from the toolbar across the top of the map.  See more about printing ...

Can I print to an exact scale?

No, not currently due to the print being determined by the dots per inch (dpi) of a monitor.  Since monitors vary in size and dpi, some print scales may be closer to the view scale than others.  The print scale should be close to the scale indicated in the viewer, but is not exact.  However, the scale bar that is created on the printout should reflect the true distances on the map.

How do I find what a parcel is County Zoned?

The “County Zoning” layer located in the Table of Contents area will need to be turned on to be visible.  Under the Layers tab, the Map Themes folder can be expanded (by clicking on once) and then click on the “County Zoning” layer radio button.

Also, County Zoning can be identified for a point on the map by using the Identify tool.  The identify tool returns a list of information for a point that was clicked on, including how it is County Zoned.  A link to the Door County Zoning Ordinance is returned with the tabular information.

Why do I get adjacent parcels highlighted when I go to print?

If doing a Parcel Search that results in multiple records returned from the query, selecting Zoom To for one of the records will not necessarily re-set the parcel selection.

To set the selection to just one parcel prior to printing, use the Select Parcel tool ().
