The imagery was made into digital orthophotos at the standard, 1-meter pixel resolution. After being delivered to Door County in about 1998, the digital orthophoto quarter quad (DOQQ) was then re-tiled to approximately 3 by 3 square PLSS (Public Land Survey System) section areas and projected to Wisconsin State Plane Coordinates - Central Zone NAD83. After purchasiing Geospatial Encoder software from LizardTech, Door County converted the digital orthrophotography from the native TIFF format to the more compressed MrSID file format in May 2001. Under the compressed MRSID format, orthophotography for the entire County was able to be included into one manageable-sized file.
