Additional Wetland information can be obtained from the Wisconsin DNR website http://www.dnr.state.wi.us/org/water/fhp/wetlands/mapping.shtml This information is intended to be used by County Departments and the general public as a reference for determining those areas that have been designated as "Wetlands" by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (Wi-DNR). Being designated as a Wetland has various use restrictions where adopted Zoning is being administered. To the best knowledge of Door County Planning Department, this theme includes the Wi-DNR Wetland designations for all areas of Door County, WI. Boundary diesginations were determined by Wi-DNR staff at a mapping scale of 1" = 2,000' as conditions existed in the early-to-mid 1980's. As a result, wetland boundary designations may not align well with other base features that were mapped later at a higher-scale and with greater control information.
