The  Door County Snowmobile clubs extend a welcome to snowmobilers to enjoy our approximately 250 miles of state and club trails.  Please Click Here for map and contact information for joining any one of the local snowmobile clubs.

Definition of Door County Trail Condition Grades

In those Zones that are OPEN, riders should use caution.

Be alert for variable snow conditions, especially on plowed ground where snow cover may be marginal. Watch out for icy corners and patches along the trails. As always, stay on the trails* or stay home!!!

 

*Please note that riding off of marked trails is a trespass violation and subject to a $396.50 fine.

 


Northern Zone - OPEN* (as of February 8, 2016)

*CLOSED - The south half of this Zone, all trails are closed south of Sister Bay/County Rd ZZ to Baileys Harbor with the exception of the section of Corridor 3 coming into Peninsula State Park from the south.  These trails east of trail intersection C1, north to Sister Bay (intersection A13) and south to Baileys Harbor (intersection B9) are currently closed due to deep standing water on portions of these trails.

*OPEN - The north half of this Zone along with Corridor 3 from Egg Harbor up to & including trails in Peninsula State Park remain open. 

Click here for Northern Zone Map - Trails are from Maple Tree Road/Kangaroo Beach Road (Egg Harbor to Baileys Harbor) north to the Gills Rock area.

CONDITIONS... FAIR (as of February 8, 2016)

Adequate snow but please still use caution.  Stay off Kangaroo Lake still open water.

Stay on marked trails. Use caution- stay off all waterways, lakes & rivers, standing water and wetland areas. Be aware- possible ice under snow and drifting snow on trails.

Watch for logging operation going on in Peninsula State Park.

NOTICE:  Sledding hill at Peninsula State Park is not part of trail system.  Do not ride snowmobiles on sledding hill.


Central Zone - OPEN

Click here for Central Zone Map - Trails are from County Road EE (Egg Harbor to Baileys Harbor) south to Culver’s restaurant on the north edge of Sturgeon Bay.

CONDITIONS... FAIR TO GOOD (as of January 29, 2016)

Stay on marked trails. Use caution- stay off all waterways, lakes & rivers, standing water and wetland areas. Be aware- possible ice under snow and drifting snow on trails.

NOTICE:  PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS A 3 MILE WIDE OVERLAP AREA BETWEEN THE NORTHERN AND CENTRAL SECTIONS WHICH IS ALWAYS OPEN WITH EITHER ONE OF THE 2 SECTIONS.


South East Zone - OPEN

Click here for South-East Zone Map - Trails are from Culver’s restaurant south over the Bayview Bridge and includes Potawatomi State Park and the Ahnapee State Trail to the south Door County line at County Road X. The west edge of this section is defined by County Road M and the south half of the Ahnapee Trail.

CONDITIONS... GOOD (as of February 4, 2016)

All trails have been groomed.  Stay on marked trails. Use caution- stay off all waterways, lakes & rivers, standing water and wetland areas. Be aware- possible ice under snow and drifting snow on trails.


South West Zone - OPEN

Click here for South-West Zone Map - Trails are all areas west of County Road M and west of the south half of the Ahnapee State Trail to the Door County line.

CONDITIONS... FAIR (as of February 3, 2016)
